Psalm 107
107:1-2, “Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His love endures
forever. Let the redeemed of the LORD say so—those He redeemed from the hand of
the foe, those He gathered from the lands, from the east and west, from the
north and south.”
What are the
redeemed so thankful for? What are the redeemed to speak of?
That God has
purchased us back from the hand of our enemy; that He has brought us near to
Him, into His care from both near and far. That He took us from our aimless
wandering and gave our weary hearts a place to find rest, in His presence. That
God delivers us from our distresses, offering us peace and hope in the midst. That
He leads us in the path and way of His perfect plan for our lives. That He
satisfies and fills our searching souls with His abundant love.
These are
the blessings that the redeemed are so thankful for, and of which we are to
joyfully declare.
